On 29 August 2012, Saudi security forces in the town Rab'eiyah town raided a barbershop of "Taha" in the town as part of a campaign of arrests in Qatif, and arrested the Shiite citizen, Fo'ad al-Qudeihi, from Rab'eiyah town in the eastern province.

Also On 29 August 2012, Saudi Wahhabi security forces at the police checkpoint in the entrance of Awwamiya town near Anak district arrested the Shiite social activist, Mufeed Ali al-Farraj, 38 years, from Awwamiya.
Al-Farraj was transferred to unknown location, and at the police department of Awwamiya, the police denied his arrest for his family.
It is worth to mention that "Al-Farraj" was arrested on 16 April 2011 on suspicion of taking part in peaceful demonstrations of al-Qatif.
Al-Farraj was released without charge on 30 July 2011, but he found out later that a travel ban had been imposed on him without his knowledge when he attempted to travel to Turkey for his work. He was informed by the border authorities that he had been banned from traveling by order of the Governor of the Eastern Province.
